Where did you go?
Are you there yet?
There… heaven?
Is there heaven?
Is there a place where we can simply rest – where pain unthreads itself
and vanishes into stillness?
Where have you been?
Can you still see me?
Can you hear me?
Can you feel me?
Since the moment you slipped from this place,
left this body – worn and noble from all it endured,
left the pain,
left the neglect
that clung like shadows on this mortal stage…
Was it your time – truly your time?
Or is time even real in the language of souls?
Did you rise like an eagle,
soaring beyond skies we cannot name?
Did you dissolve into the quiet pulse of infinite love – God, perhaps… or something vaster,
something unspoken yet deeply known?
Are you dreaming in a dark and peaceful sleep,
or fully awake in a realm my mind can’t begin to imagine?
Did you miss anything from Earth?
A scent… a voice… a forgotten joy?
Have you wandered into dimensions
our neurons could never chart,
or drifted gently through the solar winds – or past them,
into some far galaxy
where time folds and space bends
and silence begins to speak?
Did you become tree,
or wind,
or deer in the stillness of the forest?
Can you hear me thinking of you?
Can you nudge my thoughts,
whisper through intuition – that sudden knowing,
that sixth sense that turns the head without cause?
Can you show me what it means to be free – not freedom from,
but freedom within?
Are you now like a quantum particle,
suspended in song,
vibrating through the weave of all things?
If so,
let me feel it.
Let me hear the hum of your presence in my marrow.
Stretch your being across the great unknown – gather meaning,
and carry it gently back to me.
I ache for knowing,
for truth,
for that slender thread that still ties here to there.
Are we entangled, you and I – tangled in memory, in love, in the quiet machinery of time?
Did you collapse into a single instant
where past, present, and future blur into one soft light?
Are you still you?
Or have you become everything?
Give me a sign – something quiet,
but undeniable.
Because I’m still here,
wrestling with these questions,
as all who have loved and lost must do.
So tell me, soul,
not with words,
but with wonder:
Where do souls go?
Where did you go?
